The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand seeks a qualified professional for the position of General Manager of AIT Entrepreneurship Center (EC). The ideal candidate shall have a technical background with a minimum qualification of a master’s degree in any of the disciplines of mechanical/electrical/design/ biosciences, and several years of industrial experience. Experience in administration is an advantage as well as a track record in grant applications and grant management. It is expected that the candidate has worked or was attached to a startup company or founded their own company in the past. An additional degree in the areas of management or business, such as an MBA is a plus and the candidate must be fluent in spoken and written English
The General Manager is expected to take the following roles:
- To manage the EC on a daily basis, including budgets, spending, and event organization.
- To manage the Maker space which requires some engineering background of mechanical/electrical/computer/design.
- To teach one of the courses provided at the EC is a plus; such courses are in the field of product development and business development.
- To work with student/faculty groups, motivate and mentor them in their project.
- To represent the EC at external events.
